The actor has been a long-time activist for LGBTQ+ rights, and is in a gay marriage himself, after tying the knot with his partner, fellow actor and chef David Burtka in Italy in 2014, 10 years after they first got together.

Both men have spoken openly about what it is like to navigate a ‘mixed sobriety’ marriage, in which Harris is a cocktail lover and Burtka has been sober for nine years.

During this time, the couple are said to have faced some unique challenges, after Harris said he had ‘lost his drinking buddy,’ however both have respected each other’s wishes with the actor admitting he will abstain from drinking in any situation his husband feels uncomfortable.

They have even released a book called Both Sides of the Glass, which features recipes for both cocktails and mocktails.

“I think a lot of self respect and respect for the other person is integral to any relationship. And so if it’s important for David that I don’t drink, I won’t,” Harris told People.

“And he’s proven that it’s okay if I were to have a drink if he’s not going to. I think being able to honor each other, regardless of the social situation, is always helpful.”

The pair also share two children together, son Gideon and daughter Harper, who are twins both born in 2010. However, after sharing a lovely photo of his brood on social media, many fans have been quick to make the same comment.

Prior to their marriage, both Harris and Burtka had been candid about their desire to father children, with the latter telling  Out magazine that ‘if he hadn’t wanted kids, I don’t think we’d be together.’

Both their twins were carried by a surrogate, following an IVF process which saw both men contributing their sp*rm, which meant either twin could be biologically linked to either parent.

Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and twins.
Everyone is saying the same thing.

Burtka explained: “We inserted one of my sp*rm and one of David’s sp*rm into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically. Both took, miraculously.”

Burtka added: “Maybe in the beginning it was a little rough because, you know, [Neil] lost his drinking buddy, so it was a little difficult. But after time tells, it’s great.

“In fact, I love a lunchtime where I can push alcohol on him so we can go shopping afterwards. He’s more inclined to buy me things. So I’m like ‘You should have another glass, your second glass of wine!’”

Meanwhile, Harris has always impressed the fact he’s not concerned with discovering which twin is biologically his, emphasizing: “We are their parents and I love them implicitly.”

Obviously both parents love the twins in equal amounts and would never favor one over the other just because they were biologically related to them. Both of them are their children and that’s all that matters.

However, that doesn’t mean people don’t like to speculate over the situation and a photo posted Harris, showing both twins looking ever so grown up, prompted thousands of comments from fans who were all saying the exact same thing.

Despite the fact the twins were born in 2010 and it’s now 2016, it still seems baffling to most people that Harper and Gideon are now teenagers, prompting fans to gush over just how grown up they look.

“Aw, they’re adults now, I knew. Gideon would look like you, but wow. Beautiful preteen adults,” one fan wrote.

Another added: “Beautiful family! They’re not babies anymore. Time sure does fly by.”

Meanwhile a third commented: “Wait a minute now, how are they that grown up already??”

Another suggested just how incredible it is that both children appear to look like both parents, despite only being biologically related to one of their dads.

J.K. Rowling Reveals Why She Will Never Forgive Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson

J.K. Rowling has revealed why she will never forgive Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

The ongoing feud between Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling and the franchise’s leading stars has escalated dramatically.

The billionaire author has made it clear she has no intention of reconciling with Emma Watson or Daniel Radcliffe.

The dispute has fractured relationships that once seemed unbreakable and continues to generate headlines years after the initial clash began.

J.K. Rowling, whose real name is Joanne Rowling, finds herself increasingly isolated from the actors who brought her beloved characters to life.

The feud is being reignited as the Harry Potter series on HBO is set to be released later in the year.

What began as a social media controversy in 2020 has evolved into an entrenched standoff that shows no signs of resolution.

The Tweet That Ignited a Firestorm

The public rift traces back to June 2020, when Rowling responded to an opinion piece that used the phrase “people who menstruate” rather than simply “women.”

The author’s reaction was swift and sardonic, mocking what she perceived as unnecessarily convoluted language.

Her tweet sparked immediate backlash across social media platforms, but Rowling doubled down on her position rather than retreating.

She argued that acknowledging biological sex was essential to protecting women’s rights and maintaining meaningful discourse about female experiences worldwide.

The author insisted her stance was rooted in concern for women rather than hostility toward transgender individuals, though critics vehemently disagreed with that characterization.

The controversy refused to die down in the months and years that followed.

Rowling continued to post about gender identity issues, drawing both fierce criticism and passionate support.

Her views have kept her at the center of one of the most polarizing cultural debates of the era.

In 2022, the author released “The Ink Black Heart” under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

The crime thriller features a protagonist who creates content that draws accusations of transphobia.

Many readers interpreted the book as a thinly veiled commentary on Rowling’s own experiences with online criticism.

Detractors accused her of weaponizing fiction to air grievances, while supporters viewed the novel as an interesting exploration of cancel culture and mob mentality.

Harry Potter Stars Break Ranks With Their Creator

The response from the film cast was notably swift and largely unified in opposition to Rowling’s expressed views.

Several actors who appeared in the eight-film franchise publicly distanced themselves from the author’s statements on gender identity.

Chris Rankin, who portrayed Percy Weasley throughout the series, spoke openly about his connections to LGBTQ+ communities and charitable work.

He emphasized the importance of respecting how transgender individuals identify themselves, stating that denying someone’s stated gender causes genuine harm.

Daniel Radcliffe, who spent a decade portraying the titular wizard from age eleven through early adulthood, also weighed in.

He issued a carefully worded statement through The Trevor Project, an organization focused on suicide prevention among LGBTQ+ youth.

The statement acknowledged how instrumental J.K. Rowling had been to his career while asserting his moral obligation to speak out.

“Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I,” Radcliffe wrote.

The actor expressed sorrow that the books might feel diminished for readers who found themselves caught between their love of the stories and their disagreement with the author.

Many of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter stars have distanced themselves from the author.
Author J.K. Rowling has made her feelings about the Harry Potter stars clear.

Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger, used her social media presence to affirm transgender identities.

She has become known for her feminist activism and work as a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador

“Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are,” she wrote.

Speculation about Watson’s feelings toward Rowling intensified during the 2022 BAFTA ceremony.

Host Rebel Wilson introduced Watson with a quip about her being a ‘witch.’

Watson responded that she was ‘here for all the witches,’ which many interpreted as a subtle rebuke of Rowling.

Rowling’s Pointed Response Closes the Door on Reconciliation

When a supporter suggested on social media that Radcliffe and Watson might eventually offer Rowling a public apology, the author’s response left little room for ambiguity.

“Not safe, I’m afraid,” she wrote.

“Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-sex spaces.”

The statement makes clear that Rowling views the actors’ positions as something more serious than a mere difference of opinion.

She believes their advocacy constituted active participation in causing harm to vulnerable populations.

The response drew sharp reactions from observers on both sides of the debate.

Supporters applauded Rowling for holding firm to her principles and refusing to prioritize celebrity relationships over what she views as advocacy for women and children.

Critics accused her of displaying an outsized sense of grievance and entitlement to deference from actors who owed her gratitude but not ideological conformity.

Defenders of Radcliffe and Watson were quick to reject the premise that the actors had anything to apologize for.

Many pointed out that expressing support for transgender people does not require forgiveness from anyone.

Others noted the power imbalance inherent in the situation, observing that Rowling’s wealth and platform dwarf those of even successful actors.

For many, this makes her portrayal of herself as a victim of celebrity pile-ons difficult to accept.

The rift between Rowling and the stars of Harry Potter reflects broader cultural divisions over the issue worldwide.

Neither side shows any indication of backing down, suggesting this particular chapter in the Harry Potter legacy is far from its final page.

Anne Hathaway Asks Fans To Stop Calling Her ‘Anne’

Anne Hathaway wants everyone to stop calling her ‘Anne,’ and she’s revealed her real name.

Anne Hathaway has spent more than two decades as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars.

To fans around the world, she is instantly associated with iconic films like The Devil Wears PradaInterstellar, and The Princess Diaries.

Having heard her name shouted on red carpets and printed across magazine covers for years, she’s now revealed the truth.

The Oscar-winning actress recently admitted that she actually dislikes being called Anne.

Fans everywhere were shocked to learn that she no longer wants to be called Anne.

It was particularly shocking since Hathaway is currently enjoying a massive career resurgence.

The movie that changed Anne Hathaway’s life forever

Hathaway’s rise to stardom began with Disney’s beloved 2001 hit The Princess Diaries.

The film introduced audiences to Mia Thermopolis, an awkward teenager who discovers she is secretly the heir to a royal throne.

The role instantly transformed Hathaway into a household name and launched her Hollywood career almost overnight.

Looking back on the anniversary of The Princess Diaries, Hathaway described landing the film as the moment her dreams finally became reality.

“I remember [the day], and I give thanks to the universe, a big open-hearted thank you because that was the day that dreams came true for me,” she said.

“There are a lot of aspects to my life that are very real, but also a lot that are very fairy tale. That was the day that my fairy tale started.”

Following the success of the movie, Hathaway quickly became one of Hollywood’s most in-demand young actresses. But rather than staying in the lane of family-friendly films, she deliberately began pursuing more mature and dramatic roles.

That decision ultimately helped her evolve far beyond her Disney beginnings.

Anne Hathaway

From Disney star to one of Hollywood’s biggest actresses

After The Princess Diaries, Hathaway carefully reshaped her image by taking on increasingly challenging roles.

She starred in critically acclaimed projects like Brokeback Mountain before becoming a global sensation again in The Devil Wears Prada, where she played aspiring journalist Andy Sachs opposite Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.

The fashion-world comedy-drama became a cultural phenomenon and remains one of the most beloved movies of the 2000s.

Hathaway continued building an impressive résumé with films like Rachel Getting MarriedLove & Other Drugs, and Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic Interstellar.

Then came Les Misérables, the role that earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress after her emotional portrayal of Fantine left audiences stunned.

Throughout her career transformation, Hathaway often spoke about growing alongside her audience.

“It’s lovely to think that my audience is growing up with me,” the actress once said.

And audiences absolutely did.

Over the years, Hathaway became attached to some of Hollywood’s most successful films, helping her become one of the industry’s most bankable stars.

Now, in 2026, Hathaway is once again dominating headlines thanks to several major upcoming releases — especially one sequel fans have been waiting nearly two decades to see.

Why Anne Hathaway is suddenly everywhere again

Hathaway has introduced herself to a new generation of viewers in recent years.

In 2024, she starred in Prime Video’s romantic comedy The Idea of You.

The movie adapts Robinne Lee’s bestselling novel.

The story follows Solène, a 39-year-old single mother, who falls for younger pop star Hayes Campbell, played by Nicholas Galitzine

The movie sparked a huge online discussion after its release.

It also reminded audiences why Hathaway remains one of Hollywood’s most charismatic stars.

However, The Devil Wears Prada 2 currently generates the biggest buzz around Hathaway.

Hathaway reunited with Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci for the sequel.

Fans quickly obsessed over Hathaway’s return as Andy Sachs.

Behind-the-scenes photos fueled excitement across social media, and fans praised Hathaway’s updated fashion-forward wardrobe.

Social media users also celebrated her modernized version of Andy Sachs.

Many viewers said Hathaway stepped effortlessly back into the iconic role.

Hathaway also has several other major projects in development, including Mother Mary and the thriller adaptation Verity.

Despite her enormous success, Hathaway recently revealed a personal frustration.

Why Anne Hathaway doesn’t actually want people calling her Anne

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Hathaway finally explained why hearing the name ‘Anne’ has always felt strange to her.

“I’ve known you for a pretty long time now,” Fallon said. “I’ve heard people call you Annie, like your good friends. Do I call you Anne or Annie?”

Hathaway immediately made her preference clear.

“Call me Annie! Everybody, everybody, call me Annie – please!”

The actress then explained that the confusion started when she was just 14 years old and applying for her Screen Actors Guild membership card.

At the time, using her legal name professionally simply seemed like the obvious decision.

“They asked me, ‘What do you want your name to be?’ And I’m like, well, it should be my name. My name’s Anne Hathaway,” she recalled.

“And so that seemed like the right choice. But it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life people would call me Anne.”

According to the actress, only her mother calls her Anne and even then, it’s usually not a good sign.

“The only person who ever calls me Anne is my mother, and she only does it when she’s really mad at me,” Hathaway shared.

“So every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me.”

She also admitted that people on movie sets often avoid using Anne entirely because it simply doesn’t suit her personality.

“People are so lovely – they don’t want to be presumptuous, and so they come up with workarounds on set because the truth is nobody’s comfortable calling me Anne ever. It doesn’t fit,” Hathaway explained.

“I’m an Annie. And so people call me, like, Miss H; people call me Hath. So feel free to call me anything but Anne.”
